This morning I decided that when I next need to diet I will book to do the Camino! After Lisbon our diet has consisted of generous meals of either cheese sandwiches or the pilgrims meal of soup, meat or fish, fruit, wine and coffee ; all for about E7-9.The "sandwiches" consist of fresh buns , no butter or relish, cheese and ham. Even omelettes get served in a bun. The beer is great and the wine even better. We are all losing weight. Two days ago I had to buy a belt to hold my short up! Before every meal we are offered tapas. If we eat a portion we pay. Last night we went to a bar in Golega (the home of Lusitania horses) where we were invited into the back room and presented with tapas of cheeses, olives, buns (of course), octopus, marinated peppers, seafood pate, fish of some sort, prawns and a jug of red wine. We opted for the tapas and nothing else.
