Jay Lesves a Calling Card (Stone)

Just another day on the Camino, but there is always something special that happens! We started the day in Agueda, a beautiful morning with the sun shining on the houses. Much of our walk was through regenerating eucalyptus forests. Every summer Portugal and Spain experience wild fires, mostly in the eucalyptus forests. Most of the forest we walked through showed evidence of previous fires. Jay left a little momento from NZ on one of the waymarkers. One of the things I love about Portugal are the houses, especially the old cottages. Then there are the dogs. Every house has a noisy guard dog. But today we found one friendly dog. I got side tracked in Serem taking photos. Tonight we walked another 20 minutes to a cafe. Others staying in the Albergue thought there was nowhere in town open, but we found Seraphim Baptiste and had a wonderful 3 course meal with a jug of wine and glass of port all for 12 Euro each. We were served by two lovely women, see the photo. It was a delightful way to end the day.

More photos tomorrow
