Jay meets three new friends

This morning we could have spent more time exploring the many little streets in the old quarter of town.

But Caldas de Reis beckoned so on we went. However, Jay did meet three new friends along the way.

Another lovely walk on fairly even ground through forests, and over streams. There were a great many pilgrims on the path, including a large group of school children, they looked about 15 years old. One group of boys provided music for the journey! Apparently, secondary school students get credits for doing the last 100kms of the Camino. Going through the forests the bird song was replaced by lots of chatter. When we got to the first cafe it was packed. I had noticed in Pontevedera and now in Caldas De Reis that most of the hostels had the full sign up. I am so pleased I managed to pre book our accommodation up to Santiago.

Yesterday we found a bookshop in Pontevedera and managed to buy a couple of English language books. When we arrived this afternoon we spent a very enjoyable couple of hours sitting in the sun reading and drinking ( me a beer, Jay an orange juice).
