Nearly Halfway

Updated: May 1, 2019

It's 28 April and we have covered 298kms and have 322kms to go, more if we decide to do the coastal route from Porto. We have been told the coast route is for tourists, real pilgrims do the central way.

Yesterday we had trouble getting out of Coimbra because of roadworks, so we ended up getting a cab to the outskirts of the city. Last night we stayed in Mealthada and walked another 24kms today to Agueda. The weather is definitely getting warmer so this morning we set out at 6.30am. Being Sunday there weren't many cafes open until we reached Agueda. Lots of road walking today, not very pleasant.

30 April. Not every place has a good internet connection so here are some photos from the last couple of days. Where in the world is Molly Moo having a carrot break? Somewhere between Mealthada and Agueda. Dillon see if you can find it on a map. A donkey moment and a rock melon eating cat. Having some private time with my feet! Taking advantage of some shade to take a break. All along the Way there are roadside shrines and chapels. The latter offer time for rest and reflection in their cool interiors.
