One Day More

It is one month since we left Lisbon and after today we have just 8kms to go. Because we had time to spare we decided to break up the last few days into slightly smaller distances, but still averaging 18-20kms a day. Now we are in Milladoiro having walked 18.7kms from Padron this morning. Tomorrow we hope to be in Santiago in time for the Pilgrims´Mass at midday. In Porrino and Redondela we caught up with Win and Chrissy, it was great to see Win looking so much better. As we get closer to Santiago we are meeting more and more pilgrims as the number of routes converge. At one stage pilgrims blocked the progress of cars - it reminded us of cars negotiating through a flock of sheep. Most of the people we have met started in either Porto or Tui, very few from Lisbon. Yesterday we stopped at the Esperon Cafe about 6kms from Caldas de Reis. Jacquie noticed a framed letter on the wall of the cafe. The letter was from Murray and Bev Phillips from NZ. They visited the cafe some time ago and inadvertantly left without paying. They later posted the money to the cafe. Last night I tracked Murray and Bev down to let them know how much the cafe appreciated their honesty.

We are excited to be finishing but we definitely don´t want it to end. Anyone up for the Camino in 2020?
