Last night at dinner in an American themed restaurant in Conimbriga, Jay declared it was the best day so far, history, ancient ruins, a friendly cat, and American style dinner. However, we won't be recommending the restaurant and Jay latter suffered the effects of food that was not up to standard. It was a long night! Conimbriga is an ancient pre-Roman settlement from the end of the II millennium BC. It's an incredible site, the mosaic floors are very intricate, tiny tiny tiles. Last night we stayed in an Albergue, Jay's first experience of that style of accommodation. They made friends with a cat which thought Jay the best person ever. The American themed restaurant was very well decorated, the food...!
Today we walked to Coimbra where we are staying in a restored building that was once part of the city wall. Coimbra is the 3rd largest city in Portugal. Jay managed the walk well, despite a lack of sleep and feeling ill.
