Our second to last day on the Camino. Tomorrow we arrive in Santiago de Compostela. After leaving Pontecesures we walked through Padron where we "spied" two of Galicia's literary giants. Camilo José Cela Trulock, a playwright, poet, story writer and recipient of the Nobel prize for literary. The other is Rosalia de Castro, also a poet who is important for encouraging the Galician language.
Along the way I couldn't help but notice how modern items intrude into the historic environment, much to Jay's delight! But then even old buildings need support when the original methods give way to time.
We met a couple of buskers from one of the villages who performed a traditional song and dance.
Jay made friends with Ray, the goat. Actually the goats made friends with Jay's carrots! We called in to have a look at an old but well loved church. I was intrigued by the door! Was it to keep people in or out! Shortly before we arrived in O Milladiorio Jay decided to help fellow pilgrims by making an arrow with a difference. It was pointing in the right direction.
