This is the Day

We started a little earlier today today getting away from. O Milladiorio by 7.40am, someone was eager to get to Santiago! Along the way we climbed one last hill, more than one actually, crossed one last bridge, and walked through our last forest.

The art of creating scarecrows is very good here, I couldn't resist one last photo of a dog scarecrow.

It was quite emotional arriving at the Cathedral. Because it was early we were able to take photos without too many people around. Then we had breakfast, collected our certificates and compostelas and went to our "home" for the next 5 nights.

We are staying at the Anglican Friends of the Pilgrim guest house. The building is over 200 years old. The Anglicans purchased it 8 days ago and are going to renovate it. Roberto our host is very helpful and kind. We met the Rev Anna. Noon who is the priest in charge and missioner to pilgrims. Her church is an old Catholic church that was closed for decades. Anna is an Episcopalian priest with a license to work in Galicia. Tomorrow we start exploring.
