Today's the Day

After months of planning we finally start our pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. Our pilgrimage starts with when we leave home. Win, Truus and Chrissy start from Whakatane, Jacqui from Ngaruawahia, Glenise and I from Cambridge. Just as medieval pilgrims did, we will use a walking pole, carry a script to be stamped at each stop, and take something to leave behind. I just wish other ancient traditions also applied - all debts forgiven! Tonight we fly to Lisbon. Please keep us in your prayers.

The scallop- shell is the symbol for the Camino - more about that later. We are taking NZ scallop shells and a few spares to leave behind. Cynthia and Glenise waiting for transport to the airport. Molly Moo and Constantine ready for their next adventures.

PS: Thanks Dianne for the scallop shells.
