Yesterday we walked 30kms from Caminha in Portugal to Tui in Spain. After the busyness of the Camino since Porto we met only one other couple. The walk was through winding lanes over cobblestone paths and stone bridges. The last couple of hours was in cold wind and rain. On our last night in Portugal we had a superb chicken dinner cooked by the lovely Aurrora. Meal and wine for E6 each. Our numbers have dropped to three. As planned Truus flew to Holland, but one of the other ladies was unwell so she and her daughter wi!l meet up with us in a few days.
For me, yesterday was John's day. Time to reflect, reminisce and be thankful for a much loved brother whose anniversary it was.
Today was a rest day in Tui. We are staying in a fourteenth century convent hostel purchased by the current owners grandfather 60 years ago.
Our delicious chicken dinner. Our chef, Aurrora. Part of the old convent hostel. Looking across to Spain from Portugal. King Dinnis' castle. Dillon and Jasmine, Molly Moo and Constantine want to know the name of the river that separates Portugal and Spain, and see if you can find where King Dinnis lived?
